Color Run Fundraiser Timeline
Map your entire Color Run to a calendar so every task happens on time and nothing piles up at the end.
Great fundraisers run on a calendar. This six-week timeline is the rhythm Get Movin' coaches use — adjust the runway up or down with your coach.
Week 1 (6 weeks out): Set the foundation
Pick your date and goal, book your coaching call, and recruit your core team. Decide what the money is for so every message has a purpose.
Week 2 (4 weeks out): Launch registration
Open FundHub, announce to families, and set your class and school goal meters. This is when students start building pages — see the full planning guide.
Week 3 (2.5 weeks out): Build momentum
Send the first share templates home and start promotion. Most donations come from the first few shares, so make them easy.
Week 4 (2 weeks out): Incentives & supplies
Launch incentives, order color powder and t-shirts, and confirm sponsors. Momentum should be visibly building on the goal meters.
Week 5 (1 week out): Lock logistics
Confirm volunteers, assign station captains, review safety, and test your music and finish line. Send a final family reminder.
Week 6: Event week
Host the event, tally live, then thank donors, announce results, and receive your funds by automatic ACH deposit.
Pair it with the checklist
This timeline tells you when; the Color Run checklist tells you what. Use them together and your event practically runs itself.

Color Run Fundraiser FAQs
How long does a Color Run fundraiser take from start to finish?
Plan on about six weeks from kickoff to payout. The active donation window is usually one to two weeks, with the rest spent on setup and follow-up.
Can we run a Color Run on a shorter timeline?
Yes. Schools have launched successful Color Runs in as little as two to three weeks with a coach's help, though a longer runway typically raises more.
When do we receive the money after the event?
Funds transfer to the school quickly by automatic ACH deposit after your event, rather than waiting weeks for a mailed check.
